Can you match a cornice that isn't in your range?
Often, yes. Many older cornices were run in situ when the house was built, so there is often no off-the-shelf match. From a tracing of your profile we make the tooling and run or cast new lengths to match.
How do I send you my profile?
Trace the side profile onto paper so it touches both the wall and the ceiling lines. Write your contact details and the length you need, in metres or feet, on the same sheet and post it to UK Plaster, Vulcan Works, Dixon Street, Horwich, Bolton BL6 7PH. Our tracing guide shows how to take the tracing.
How quickly will I get a price?
We confirm the price within 24 hours of receiving your profile outline.
Do you need to visit to give me a price?
Not usually. Sending a tracing means you can get a price without the cost of an initial visit, and we can advise from photos. Call us on 01204 693900, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Why can matching cost more than a standard cornice?
The cost depends on how much reconstruction the profile needs and how much you need. It is generally more than a standard cornice, especially if you only need a small amount.
Can you fit the matched cornice for me?
We mainly fit cornice for insurance companies, because the labour costs can be too high for many individuals, but arrangements for direct customers can be made. For the best results we highly recommend a skilled fibrous plasterer.
